Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL):
The TOEFL test measures your ability to communicate in English in colleges and universities. You can take the test as an Internet-based Test (iBT) or a paper-based test (PBT), depending on which format is offered at your test center. Almost all colleges in the USA require TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) scores from international applicants. TOEFL test scores help colleges judge whether you have adequate English skills to succeed in an American college classroom.

Currently in Nepal, two formats of the TOEFL exist: Internet-based (iBT) and paper-based (PBT). iBT TOEFL has a spoken section; PBT TOEFL does not.

For this location, the TOEFL test is offered as an Internet-based test and a paper-based test. View test locations and dates in the list below to see which test is offered, then select a link for more information on the test you wish to take.

Internet-based Test (iBT)

 or

Paper-based Test (PBT)

What is the difference between TOEFL iBT and TOEFL PBT?
TOEFL iBT measures reading, listening, speaking and writing skills and takes approximately 4 hours. It is given on computer 30-40 times a year at test centers throughout the world.

TOEFL PBT measures listening, structure (grammar), reading and writing and takes approximately 3 hours. It is given using paper and pencil 6 times a year at test centers where TOEFL iBT is not available.

For Students from Nepal:

The list below shows available test locations and dates as of July 20, 2008, but availability may change when you register. Fees are shown in US$ and are subject to change without notice. Please see the online registration system for the most up-to-date information and for test times.
